In honor of Robin Gibb


Today a bright and great part of my childhood just passed away, Robin Gibb. I have a beautiful story with Bee Gees but I didn’t know it would hurt so much.

The first dvd my mom bought me was one of the Bee Gees concert. I was 10, I guess, and that meant a lot to me. I was that awkward kid that loved 70’s and 80’s songs (well, I’m still like this) and I fell in love with their music first time I listened. I used to play that dvd 4 or 5 times a day. By the end of the week, I knew all the lyrics by heart.

I haven’t listened to a song of them in a while, but when I read Robin has died, sadness hit me right away and I couldn’t help the tears. I felt like I have neglected one of my Idols or didn’t have the chance to say goodbye properly.

So, here it goes, Robin. Thanks for filling my early days with such heartfelt lyrics and great music. I’ll never forget the afternoons I spent in my living room, in front of the TV, pretending I was in a Bee Gees concert, singing all the songs from the same setlist. Thanks for the sweet memories, and look what a joke, now I can only have you as a memory too.

    I thought you have set it for Easter.

  • Mom:

    SURE.

  • *get out of the chair and let mom do all the work*
